Pine needle fireworks
against a clear azur sky:
view from my hammock

When grazing gazelles
escape the lions’ clutches,
hungry cubs must starve.

I like these especially the first one. You bring to life the need to lay under a pine tree in a hammock.

pine needle fireworks - a wonderful image!

  3. Megan Says:

Crafty Green Poet is right…pine needle fireworks delivers the visual…so well done.

also like the flip of the second…from feeling relief at the gazelles’ escape to the result, hungry cubs…the changed point of view.

    really enjoyed these

If anyone mentions a hammock, I pay attention. Nice.

    love the pine needles!!

  7. Jemima Says:

I was going to say something lazy about liking the first one, lazy because I’d like to be in that hammock. But I love the perspective of the second. nature’s not cruel, nature’s natural.
